Our Future is in Heaven!

Rev.Anil Jasper

Though word “Heaven” is missing in the worldly preaching and teaching but good news is this that Bible clearly gives us wonderful insights about Christian’s future in Heaven. According to study it is a place of beauty, comfort, peace and satisfaction. Mostly, people use heavenly word to describe something heavenly. Even one flavor of ice-cream is called “Heavenly Hash”. Praise the Lord that it is a literal place where saved Christians will go after completing their earthly journey. It is a glorious place filled with glorious scenes.

Therefore, we should not accept any man idea or assumption which is beyond the Bible. If somehow this happens then this kind of teaching can produce spiritual blindness and demonic possession. It is written:“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2-Corinthians 10:5).

Catholicism, Hinduism, Islam and pagan cultures believe on seven heavens. But Bible teaches that there are only three heavens (2-corinthians 12:1-4).(Atmospheric Heaven, Planetary Heaven, Third Heaven, Kingdom of God).Abraham “looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”(Hebrew 11:10). It is built by God himself. He is the designer, architect and builder of this eternal city.Christian people living under the Russian oppression for fifteen hundred years wanted to know about this eternal city. If you are Christian then you can expect any kind of oppression and persecution from anywhere. Be sure, that it is your eternal home. Bible calls it our native country (Philippians 3:20). As Abraham walked in faith we also need to walk in faith not in sight. (Hebrew 13:14).Can you imagine that why Jesus that we should not save riches on this earth? It does not mean that we should sell our everything and start nomadic life. Instead of this we should live in this earth as strangers. World is our temporary home and we need to develop heavenly mindset (Colossians 3:1).So, Heaven is His Kingdom. Our everlasting life will be spent in His Presence full of heavenly glory.“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” (Revelation 21:23)
